Handmade Journal In Altered Cigar Box Assemblage
This is an altered cigar box and handmade journal. The box itself is treated with decorative paper that has been aged. Inside the box houses a handmade journal and reused leather cover board. There are 12 signatures. Each signature has four sheets. All signatures hand-stitched. I have used a traditional case binding. The cover is a reused quarter-bound leather book that has collage and found objects. The book measures 7.5" x 5.5" x 1" Spine is retreated and added collage image. Clasp is metal gear with cord.

In A Bind Studio
I am an asseblage and book artist with a background in book conservation and binding. I create faux archives and artifactual objects. I create one-of-kind writing journals, diaries, and smashbooks. My books, journals, smashbooks and diaries can be a simple binding or complicated assemblages. For example, a diary can be designed based on a wedding, birthday, deaths, celebrations, first drink, graudate, first love, whatever you need for making a memory of an event. I also made clamshell boxes for these special books if you want. Need a box for your favorate book, "The Fifty Shades of Gray?" I'm your artist. I work collaboratively with the customer to create an amazing piece of art. All books and boxes are hand-bound and/or hand-made, not machine. Costs range from $75 on up.
