This set was commissioned by a client I think in the North East, as a christmas present in 2012. She did some sneaking around and found out which of The Doctors were favored by her lucky sister. Initially she requested the largest doll be painted like the Doctors famous ship (the TARDIS, which is disguised as a police box), but I recommended to her that we do a proper box, which she liked, and it free'd up one more doll to paint. So smallest to tallest, the order is: The Dalek (the enemy!), First Doctor (William Hartnell), the third Doctor (John Pertwee), the fourth (a fan favorite, Tom Baker), the fifth (Peter Davison), and she then skipped a few to my most familiar Doctor, the Tenth (David Tennant). These are painted with acrylic paint on natural wood dolls, milled in China (I have recently switched to a finer quality supplier, made right here in the U.S. of A.).

Ben, There! Ben runs a tight ship, a one man show, and a diverse and sometimes ludicrous three-ring circus of art and craft. Many of the skills and products offered by Ben were discovered and refined through custom orders - nesting dolls, puppets, hunting trophies, portraits and more - Ben can make most anything, given the time and a reason to try.
