This is a custom made desk I made as a commission for a customer. He wanted wood with lots of color and interesting grain patterns. The frame is native california walnut, the drawer faces are elm, and the panels are bookmatched Valley oak, all from trees that were taken out by their owners and the wood was "saved' and milled by me. The trees grew in Sonoma Ca. and they are not wood that you can get at a lumber store anywhere. The handles are also hand made from walnut. He wanted a desk for his office that had files on both sides and plenty of room on top for work. I call this "california Classic " style, a little modern, a little last century.
