Farmhouse Forge
Farmhouse Forge is the blacksmith shop of artist and metalworker James Gonzalez.
The shop is located in the heart of the New York State North Country, on the family homestead.
I specialize in one-off and short run custom designed projects.
I received my education in aesthetics and craftsmanship from the Massachussets College of art and design where I majored in sculpture. I have over fifteen years of experience as a self employed artist blacksmith.
From 2001 until 2013 I operated a studio in Boston, MA. Executing commissions ranging from pure art to architectural scale metal work.
In the spring of 2013 I moved my expanding family to a more rural setting, namely an old farm and homestead, transforming the old barn into my artistic metal shop.
