This built to order Ambrosia Maple desk, featured a modern style with long following pared down edges. The five fully extendable dovetail drawers proved to be ample storage for my clients. Its high quality sliding dovetail construction supports the piece with steel reinforcement. A protective clear coat shows off the character of the ambrosia maple. The wood used was all from the same log and matched accordingly.

As a child, I was inspired by my uncle, master craftsman Howard Lattomus, who collaborated with Herny duPont at Winterthur museum. I am able to maintain Howard's legacy of craftsmanship by working in his original shop in Montchanin, Delaware. My work as a professional cabinetmaker and woodworker spans 18 years of creating pieces ranging from traditional fine furniture to one of kind modern pieces.
As a artist, I try to create work which embodies the spirit of preservation while enhancing nature's natural marvel. I have learned to recognize the importance of water in nature and how its smooth flow nurtures and shapes everything around us, even a fallen tree. Because of wood's relationship with water, each piece has its own mysterious charter, especially the unusual or imperfect specimens. My challenge is to find each piece's opportunity for re-birth while preserving the integrity of its original form, spirit and voice.
