Djembe Drum - Walnut With Maple And Bubinga Accents

This was a custom djembe build commissioned for a customer who wanted something a little better than the norm. I had this idea for doing the accent rings and he wanted me to incorporate the OM symbol. I laser cut and inlaid the OM into the bottom of the djembe. The main wood is Black Walnut, with the reddish accents being bubinga and the lighter wood is a curly maple. The drum has a rubber foot on the bottom and I used a strong 5mm rope with custom welded rings and an African goatskin for the head. The drum sounds excellent and the customer extremely happy.
