SOME HISTORY ON THE PIECES PICTURED: This piece is our crowning achievement as a company so far. It was created at the request of a family who had lost their home in one of Colorado's wildfires. We took many items they had collected from their burned home: a pool of aluminum that was their sliding glass door, their grandfather's watch, wedding spoons, coins, flatware, and so much more, and created a stunning memorial piece. The stained glass mosaic is a spiral seashell in blues & greens, based on the Fibonacci sequence. The wooden frame was handcrafted, stained in a walnut shade, and wrapped with fishing net to add to the seashell theme. The burned memorial items were placed in such a way as to create a "clock", with the utensils in the middle to serve as clock "hands". On an interesting note, the stained glass piece sitting beside this one in the first picture was built by Mark Tozer, Joseph Tozer's (co-owner of Woolcarder's) father, and restored by Joseph 20 years later. It was our first stained glass project. Both pieces measure around 4' in diameter. This particular piece now resides in the newly built home of the family for whom it was built.
