Contemporary Walnut Pedestal Table
This piece began with the invitation to create a pedestal table that was 5' x 5', but which would expand to 6' x 6'. It was to be constructed out of solid walnut. Together we worked to overcome the challenges of constructing this table out of solid wood and came up with a solution that met both the structural issues of construction while achieving the buyer's desired result. The pedestal is a 3" thick solid walnut octagon, with eight arched legs reaching up to support the top. This dining set is intended for daily use by an active family, and is constructed and finished in such a manner as to give years of trouble free service.

At Olsons WoodWorks we specialize in balancing the best of old world craftsmanship with the latest in design and tool capabilities. Dave Olson began his career in woodworking in 1979 in Gig Harbor, WA where his specialty was traditional oak roll top desks. In 1988 he answered the call to the ministry where he served for 25 years. In 2013, Dave and his son, Jens, began Olsons WoodWorks. Today our focus is on the design and construction of chairs in addition to the ability to design and build a wide range of furniture to suit our client’s particular desires.
In order to accomplish this goal we have invested in computer design software and a Legacy Artisan II CNC router. These technologies enable us to work with our clients from the early conceptualization phase, develop three dimensional renditions of the designs for review, and then accurately and efficiently create and deliver to our clients a finished product. Though we utilize the latest in technology, it is traditional hands on craftsmanship that we rely on to complete the final detailing of our work.
Though Dave has completed commissions for some of the wealthiest people in the world, our commitment is to create fine furniture that will be cherished for generations and yet furniture that is reasonably priced so that it is accessible to and can be enjoyed by a wide variety of people.

For Cameron's computer desk5.0I rarely give 5 stars. There's always something that could be better, or more efficiently. That being said. This gentleman is great to work with. He was patient and worked with extreme haste. His sense of urgency communication wise was second to none. I explained what I wanted, and within the same day he had made a computer design of what I wanted. I requested him to carve an intricate design into the desk practically last minute, and he delivered. The desk was delivered the same week it was finished. It turned out better than I originally envisioned! Seriously perfect! I would highly recommend him, and go to him for future builds.
