Rustic Wood Mosaic Epoxy Resin Serving/Cutting Boards
I never seem to be able to part with any rustic wood scraps. I found a new use for them by creating these cutting/serving boards. A wood mosaic is made with bits and pieces of past projects. Cracks, voids and spaces between the pieces are filled with epoxy resin. This allows the wood surface on one side to be used as a cutting board and the transparent epoxy side for serving. The wood side is sealed with MonoCoat– a plant-based food safe, waterproof, stainproof sealant. Maintenance free and very easy to clean. Prices range from $75 - $150 depending on size, wood type and the amount of epoxy added. Size as shown is 8.5"W x 11"L x 1"T. Contact me for availability and I will send you pictures of what I have in stock. Custom sizes and configurations are available upon request. Because this is handmade using different pieces of wood every time, no two will be the same. There will be some similarities in design, but each piece will have its own signature look. One of a kind. My disdain for mass-produced furnishings lead me to the creation of many unique custom-made pieces. By combining a passion for historical materials with modern design, I was able to preserve a bit of the past into the future. Old barn wood was transformed into tables, bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinets and anything else I could apply my artistry to. Broken Mexican tile was fashioned into beautiful mosaic inlays. Collected stones, shells and driftwood were melded with old growth wood to recreate natural beauty.
