The rustic shelves from Along the Ridge are made with natural edges in tact and can be made to any desired length. The slab shelves can be made of Red Pine or of Northern White Cedar and cut to just about any desired thickness. The shelves pictures are 35" in length and 2" thick. Along the Ridge
Along the Ridge is a small business located in west-central Wisconsin that specializes in rustic wooden frames and a variety of unique wooden items.
Red Pine, harvested and cut at a local mill in northwest Wisconsin, is the primary lumber used due to the beautiful blue staining created by Mother Nature.
I like to keep the natural edges when working with wood and this means that no two pieces will ever be identical. Each piece offers its own unique grain pattern, tint, and edge design and I try to incorporate everything the wood has to offer to make a piece that is equally functional and welcoming to the eye.
A couple of years ago I heard some advice from a friend who said, "Quit saying how much you'd like to be a woodworker and be a woodworker already."
So I did.
