Adirondack Chair From Repurposed Skateboards
These are handbuilt Adirondack chairs using skateboard decks for the back surface. Each chair is built in white pine, all joints are glued and screwed together. I can paint chairs to whatever color palette you choose. Chairs is available in kit form as well- you supply only the skateboard decks for the back. I am a one-person shop and every item shown is designed and hand-crafted by me. My sketchbook is always handy and new ideas can be rooted in the most unusual places (a wedding, a vacation spot, a hotel lobby, or the library).
The materials I use for my work are mostly well-used and cast aside skateboard decks. The wood is a beautiful lamination of rock-hard maple, some layers colored for contrast. The projects I do are a simple way of re-purposing materials that would otherwise end up in landfill. Just call them "non-throw-away" works of art in a "throw-away world".
