Custom Bourbon Barrel Bistro Table

Art from Ashes is a family project based out of Louisville, Ky. I am Ashleigh Anthony the artist and owner. I chose the name Art from Ashes for a variety of reasons and I believe they describe my mission best. The obvious reasons are that Ashes is short for Ashleigh and that bourbon barrels are dirty. The interior of bourbon barrels is required to be charred, the wood must be white oak and adding to the art of distilling the barrels must be brand new. Every time I make or prep any of my work I am covered head to toe in wonderfully scented ashes. For as dirty as the work is the sense of fulfillment I feel when I finish a project reminds me that in the words of Oscar Wilde, "Life imitates art far less than art imitates life." The art I do brings life back into the beautiful bourbon soaked wood of the barrels and through pyrography I am truely creating Art from Ashes.
I had always dreamed of being a 'real' artist and loved getting my hands, and let's be real everything else, dirty in the process. It was only natural that I would fall head over heals for upcycling old bourbon and wine barrels. I love making them into one of a kind art and home decor.
