This is presently a quilt top waiting for you to tell me how you would like it finished. This top has been machine appliqued and is 100% preshrunk cotton. It will fit a twin bed as is and a full size bed with a dust ruffle. It has a scalloped edge all around it. The options included in making this quilt complete are hand or machine quilting, type of backing, design preference and color of thread for stitching. I can complete this quilt or make one with your preferences from start to finish.

The end of the year 2013 found me facing breast cancer. With support from God, family, friends and a good medical team I came through better than ever and the year 2014 finds me with all kinds of new beginnings. I am now on the journey of life as a cancer survivor and I am anticipating the birth of a granddaughter in July, to name two. It is also time to bring my creativity to a new level.
Just like any other creative being, I have been an artist all my life. Creativity is not something that can be left alone because it is attached to the whole person and if not used the very being of that person shrivels up and blows away. I started being a serious quilter in 1998, after I was struck with a chronic disease that would eventually leave me bedridden for several years. The thing that was most crippling about this time in my life was that my mind worked but my body didn't. My mind never shut down and I needed something to keep me busy that way I wouldn't think so much. I had to redefine myself as I no longer was all the titles I had been before. The title of Mom was even questionable because I no longer could do the things that I felt most moms' did. Here I was a canvas of the past and I needed to learn how to fill the canvas in with new pieces. This is how I became a quilter. Quilting answered all my needs at the time: it was compact and I could take it to all my medical appointments and still have something useful to do with my waiting time, it was very hands on, it was like an empty canvas and the slightest variations would change the entire quilt (much like life), it was challenging and creative, soothing my being to not accepting where I was in life, but being comfortable with it for that period of time.
Every quilt made is a masterpiece! I can offer a quilt already made, or customize one to your desires. Most of my quilts are just the top as I wait for the buyers input, this allows my customers' several options for the finishing. What kind of material do you want on the back, color of fabrics and thread, do you want it completely done by machine or hand sewn? Some of my quilt tops are vintage done by artists from an earlier period of time. I also have many quilt pattern books for you to choose your own design.
There is no feeling like you feel when you give someone the gift of a quilt. It tells a person just how much you think of them.
