The N2a Serving Platter
The N2A design springs from a rusty downspout in the building in which I work within the former Westinghouse factory complex in Turtle Creek, PA. It was in this complex that the Westinghouse Electric Corporation developed America's AC power grid as well as the power generators for the Hoover Dam This serving platter is 12.5" long, 7" wide, and .5" deep. All my kiln formed glass tableware is 100% food safe and made from Bullseye Tested Compatible art glass. My Rust Lands series of glass designs is an ongoing meditation on the Pittsburgh region's former industrial past and how the physical remnants of the steel industry shape present day Pittsburgh and the region's broader identity. It is through my explorations of Pittsburgh that I am discovering the rich and multi-varied textures of the decayed industrial landscape used in this series.

I make handmade, kiln formed decorative art glass for commercial and home uses. I offer a wholesale line of tableware and interior lighting, as well as custom lighting, tile installations, and unique architectural elements.
I primarily use a glass making process called powder printing. An adaptation of screen printing, powder printing also employs the use of screens and photosensitive emulsion, but instead of pushing ink on to paper, I push powdered colored glass onto layers of sheet glass which is then fused together in the kiln. The glass pieces are then trimmed and mounted as tiles or set up over ceramic and metal molds and slumped into forms for lighting or tableware. I also create my own slumping molds, fabricate lighting armatures, and build my own kilns and other equipment.
