Custom Beveled Glass Window
This custom commission is mounted into the upper and lower sections of a double-hung window located on the landing of a residential staircase. The bevels in the central design are double-thick, having been made using 3/8" plate glass. This greatly enhances the rainbow effect when sunlight comes through the window. The bevels in the border and background are standard bevels, having been made using 3/16" plate glass. These panels are constructed with lead came, the proper choice for all geometric stained glass designs. The outer edge and many of the interior lines are zinc came, resulting in adequate strength without having to break up the design with reinforcement bars.
