This artwork showing the Chinese character for Long Life is currently for sale. It is one of my favorite artworks, and I'm including a photo of it hanging in my living room window. The artwork is made with three very different sizes of lead came. Stained glass artists who do only copper foil (no lead came) will tell you they can do anything in foil that I, who do both lead and foil, can do. Hogwash! This is a great example of a stained glass artwork that could NEVER be achieved in foil, and a true professional in this medium should know how to both. This artwork should be done in lead came because of the geometric aspect of the design. The uniform width of lead came enhances any geometric design in a way foil could not because even the best of foilers (and I'm one, so I should know) could never apply the foil as perfectly as lead came, which is extruded. Plus the ability to achieve leadlines that are different sizes ( the largest lead came in this artwork is 3/4" wide) is the icing on this cake that takes it from good to exceptional. This hanging artwork is mounted in an oak frame, which looks black here but actually has a clearly visible wood grain with a medium stain. The size of this artwork is just under 34". As with all my artworks, the metallic parts have been darkened to a charcoal gray with a chemical patina.

I have been making stained glass for 50 years, since I took it up as a hobby at the age of eleven. I have been a full-time stained glass artist since 1975. I've won numerous awards for both my design and my craftsmanship.
I have completed commissions throughout the U.S. and Canada, and shipped my ready-made artworks as far as Dublin, Ireland. I also teach my unique methodology for making precision stained glass in a 43-hour set of DVDs, and I have sold hundreds of these sets in 15 countries so far.
As a visual artist, I invite you to view my images and compare the design and craftsmanship for yourself. Whether you are considering the purchase of an already-made stained glass artwork or commissioning new custom stained or beveled glass, I am confident that I can address both your desires and needs.
