A suite of four matched pieces whose general form was inspired by traditional Japanese torri, gate heads typically found at the entrance to harbors and Shinto temples and said to mark the transition from the profane to the sacred. These traditional forms have been reinterpreted in simple clean contemporary lines, handcrafted of clear yellow pine, cluster burl white oak and mahogany with black reproduction tansu pulls and ebonized stiles.
