Breadbox Chaise Lounge
This was the first piece I created after graduating from Towson. It's still a chaise lounge with a rolling wooden slat door that you can close or open at your discretion. I imagined this being a fun piece to display or use in a living room. The dark wood is walnut and the light wood is ash with a white wash stain on it. I really enjoy using contrasting woods to make a bold statement. The inside cushions were made by a local upholsterer to make it just as comfortable as it is fun.

Joe McHugh Furniture
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Towson University with a concentration in Sculpture. My work while in school was a fusion of fine art and furniture, often creating concept based furniture.
Since graduating from Towson I have been working for a historic home restoration company in Baltimore city and trying to expand my own business of custom furniture and counter tops at night and on the weekends.
My work is very minimal in design. I like to use sharp clean lines and contrasting woods to create interest. I try to use traditional joinery to create pieces that will stand the test of time.
