Fire Box
Handmade in Hillside, Illinois by JTJ Woodcrafting
A friend's husband is a decorated fireman who can't seem to keep his medals organized, so she asked me to build a box. This is the result. The sides are made from Poplar, the top is Cedar (the knot looks a bit like and eye . . . you know . . . the ever watchful Fire Department?). The inlay, red striping and flame job are from Paduak, which is a naturally red, exotic hardwood. The corners of the box are made from Aspen. I've received no word on whether the husband has kept his medals organized, but she did like the box :)

Creating custom wood items since 2008. We can turn any idea into reality. Custom jewelry boxes, wooden signs, outdoor furniture, and more. Send us your idea and we will make it real.
All projects start as ideas. To ensure your complete satisfaction, we offer 3d rendering as an additional service. We always recommend this as a starting point because it's easier to tweak a design on a computer screen than once it's built.
