This is a desk that I designed to fit in my daughter's rather small bedroom. I wanted her to be able to open the dresser that was next to her bed and use it as a desk while still sitting on the bed. To make this happen two supports pull out and the top flips toward you to make a writing surface. You are then able to pull up the cubby and drawer box to reveal a place to put letters and writing supplies. When you are done with the desk the cubby box is lowered and the top flipped back down to revert the piece to a small dresser. This piece is made of solid bird's eye maple trimmed with walnut. The whole piece is then dyed a light honey color and sprayed with an alcohol-based lacquer.

About Me:
After spending a decade in NYC as an audio engineer recording such talents as Stevie Ray Vaughn and Whitney Houston I decided to pursue a life-long love of woodworking by moving to Maine and building traditional furniture. My love of music evolved into offering a line of electric guitars called 'LincSonic'. I am currently the senior furniture builder for Windsorchair as well as an independent, custom electric guitar designer and builder.
About My Work:
I have been woodworking for about forty years. My work reflects my appreciation of traditional furniture design; from Queen Anne to Arts and Crafts to Shaker. One of my drop-front desks was featured on the cover of Fine Woodworking, (December 1992, #97). Over the years I have built over 3000 pieces of furniture.
My LincSonic guitars reflect my love of music and my satisfaction in designing and building a fine musical instrument.
