Sweet Mud Wares + Wearables are handcrafted from translucent porcelain, and decorated with vibrant, durable glazes. The designs and textures are elegant, chic, and playful to convey the modern woman’s distinctive tastes.
• Every product in the Sweet Mud Clay Works repertoire is individually handcrafted from scratch by Cara Long, in her Los Angeles studio.
• Each pair of drop earrings is fitted with handwrought sterling silver earwires, while stud earrings are attached to sterling silver posts.
• All glazes are certified lead-free and food-safe.
• All of the materials used in the production of these products are acquired or created in the USA.
{ ABOUT THE ARTIST }
An instinctive passion for pastries, porcelain, and all-things-pretty has guided Cara Long through a multifaceted career as a pastry chef, jeweler, and entrepreneur. After graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute, Cara pursued a career as a professional studio artist, exhibiting her translucent porcelain installations throughout the country.
A nagging desire to escape the comforts of the Midwest led Cara to Philadelphia in 2011 to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Upon graduating, Cara hit the road for the opposite coast, with her fiancé, cat, and pottery wheel in tow.
Cara currently creates every product in the Sweet Mud Clay Works repertoire from scratch in her Los Angeles studio.
