The symmetrical look of this tabletop is achieved by using two slabs cut sequentially from the same tree, and then opening them up (like a book). The technique is called "book-matching" and it creates a really unique, balanced look to the tabletop. Options for integrated electronics are also available, Including cord grommets and pop-up ports.
