Reclaimed wood has details that can’t be duplicated with new wood. Each piece has unique knots, nail holes and a naturally weathered patina. Nature and time provides wonderful character for each piece.
We love searching high and low for perfectly weathered pallet wood and rusty old vintage finds. It is what we use as our canvas for everything you see, which is thought up and crafted in our home-based shop.
Everything can be custom made to suite your decor so if you prefer another frame color or specific dimensions, just let us know.
ABOUT US
In March of 2014 I was downsized from my position in the corporate world, thankfully I have always been able to earn outside my 9 to 5. At this point in my life, I thought it would be a great opportunity to spend time with my 15 year old son, whom we home school (Ryan is taking I. T. classes along with his studies). I wanted to show him how to be self reliant, making his own way in life. As I have learned in life, never depend on a pay check from someone else's business to meet your own needs.
It was Ryan who had the idea, "dad lets build a bench for our deck out of pallet wood". So at that moment Rustic Porch & Patio was conceived we just did not know it yet. Once we built that bench for our deck, friends and family raved over it, benches and tables were requested and this is how Rustic Porch & Patio came to be.
As demand grew for our benches, we needed to look for a way to obtain reclaimed wood in bulk to help reduce labor time. In finding a place to obtain recycled wood, Ryan and I ran into Daniel, the co-owner of Yonder Years Shop, after a 40 minute conversation and exchanging of contact info we sent over photos of our benches. Daniel and Lisa offered to list our benches on their website, needless to say sales have been wonderful and in March of 2015, they came to us with an idea. Lisa wanted to focus her time on the business that she had built for the last 10 years and instead of dissolving Yonder Years, they wanted to see it passed on to someone who would cherish and grow it. We were excited at the opportunity and immediately said yes! So now we have a shop specifically for outdoor furniture and one for indoor furniture, all made from recycled and reclaimed materials.
