Walnut Hall Table

4. The table is Black Walnut with the internal structural framing made of Basswood. I used no plywood, veneer, or particle board in the making of this table. 100% solid wood. The style is Eastlake. The drawer pull is deer antler, my son turned it for me. As this would be difficult to ship, I believe I can ship it as 2 leg end panels, 1 internal frame, a drawer, a top, a back panel, and the top and bottom cross members above and below the drawer. This way I could ship it safely. Some assembly would be required, only a few phillips head screws which would be included. I would fully assemble and inspect before dis-assembly and shipping. Hi, my name is Josh Hinze. Originally, I worked in a lab developing products for the alternative health market, did this for 20 years. The company was family owned and, due to many deep differences, the company sold. Lab work (and computers) was all I knew. God had other things in mind, however. I had a friend who was a carpenter and brilliant at finish work. He asked me to work with him and I accepted. I was a know nothing but he was patient. I learned to love carpentry, especially finish work, due to the level of precision needed to make something beautiful. This love of precision came from the lab work I had done for so many years.

I've come to love frame and panel work. I was able to refinish a dresser from ~1870 and upon taking it apart, I fell in love with the way it was constructed. The dresser was 150 years old and still as solid as when it was new. I drew out every detail of the dresser using CAD software so I wouldn't forget how it was constructed.

I am so happy I contacted Josh to make my project. I know nothing about wood or woodworking, but I had a particular image in my mind of what I wanted made. Josh was so helpful in suggesting what type of wood he thought would be best and he walked me through his construction plan. He sent me picture updates throughout the process to ensure I liked how it was looking. The final product was exactly what I wanted, and it was beautifully constructed. I could tell that he cared about making for me exactly what I wanted. He had such enthusiasm throughout and he was pleasant to work with. I would go back to him in a second and I would recommend him to others a thousand times. He was professional, communicated with me a lot (and communicated in a timely manner), had a keen eye for detail, and he even finished my project early. Josh was great to work with. He kept in touch with me every step of the project. My husband commented on how beautiful the cutting boards are when I unpacked them (and he is someone who often pays little attention to such items). Josh was dissatisfied with the first one he made due to some difficulties he had not anticipated but sent me both of them. I like them regardless of what Josh saw as imperfections . We are delighted with our new walnut cutting boards. Josh seems very creative and pleasant to work with. I will be a repeat customer!!

Mr. Hinze was extremely kind and created beautiful cutting boards that I gave as a gift to my mother. She had a very specific size, material and finish she wanted and he was able to deliver a stunning finished product that was just what she envisioned! Mr. Hinze was very prompt and congenial in his communications and it was a joy to work with him. My mother and I both recommend his work very highly, and I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Hinze as a craftsman and friendly vendor!

My new cutting board is beautiful. Josh was very prompt at keeping me informed and up-to-date on my project and it was delivered in a timely fashion. I would recommend his workmanship. My only reason for four stars instead of five is a small indentation on one side of the board where food could get stuck. The finish is beautiful.
