This item has been sold but I can re-create it, or make one customized for you. I made this sculpture out of scrap pieces of metal that were MIG welded together. It has a bearing welded to the rotor so the pieces swivels or turns in a stiff breeze. As you can see from the pics, it casts some really interesting shadows as it turns. My goal is to re-purpose, re-use, or re-cycle as many pieces of scrap as possible. The brake rotor came off my daughters car when I changed her brakes. The center bearing came off an idler pulley from my truck. The rod was left over from a previous project and the main piece is from a 2'x'8 metal wall stud that a contractor was throwing away. The piece is about 5 feet tall and weighs around 40 pounds. The upright is bolted to the bearing with a piece I made on my metal lathe so it can be partially disassembled for shipment. Right now it has its natural finish plus some discoloration from welding. I used the electrolysis process to clean and stabilize the rotor. Over time this will develop a rust or patina. . This piece would look great as a piece of outdoor yard art, in a park or even in an office setting.

I am a retired Army Engineer Diver and reside near Fredericksburg, VA. I have been working with wood or metal for over 30 years. I enjoy looking at a piece of material and seeing what it can be changed into instead of its original purpose.
I make unique items out of scuba diving tanks, scrap metal, and anything I can find so that I re-purpose, re-use or recycle as much material as possible. My goal is to have 90% of the material in my projects be items that were destined for the scrap yard or trash.
Whether it is a one of a kind engraved scuba tank, abstract sculpture, lamp, or piece of yard art, please allow me to work with you to make your vision come to life.

For Large Bell Or GongPositively-Absolutely-Talented (PAT) that's Pat! It was a very rewarding experience working with him. He took my cryptic drawings and information and turned them into a masterpiece. I've already asked him about working on another project for me. Thanks Pat, I really appreciate your talent and time. You're the best!!

For Clock Tower Sculpture ProjectPat did a great job and really worked hard to make sure the end result was what we were looking for. His willingness to learn and work with another artist was much appreciated. Even though the clock tower isn't fully complete Pat's portion of the project turned out great. I highly recommend using Pat for metal work.

For Outdoor pteradactyl sculpture ProjectWe haven't received the Pteradactyl sculpture yet, but believe we will love it due to Pat's continuous updates with images, questions and confirmations. This was our first Custom Made project, as well as Pat's. He is a great person to work with, a real artist. I recommend him for steel renditions.
