Large Garden Bell Or Gong

$3,000+

This item has been sold but I can re-create it, or make one customized for you. The top of a condemned CO2 tank has been turned into a bell or gong. This is a great piece of yard art and would be an excellent addition as a focal point for a garden. Despite how cute he is, my little buddy Donner is not included in the sale of this bell, he is just there for size reference and because he is so cute. I hand cut a sun, moon, and star into the top piece. All the metal pieces have been acid washed to speed the aging process so it develops a nice coat of rust or oxidation. This will stabilize after a few months and leave it with a really nice finish. I have heavy duty lag bolts that will screw into the wood to help hold it together. They are not installed right now so that I do not strip out the holes in the wood. The metal base has holes drilled into the corners so it can be bolted down to a concrete floor or spikes driven into the ground. Due to its size, diameter and weight it has a different tone than the thin tubes. In my opinion, this sounds much better than the thin tubes as windchimes. bell or chime is about 4 feet long from its base to the top of the ring and is about 9 inches in diameter. It does not have a windcatcher is made to be rung like a bell. I am using a baseball on a stick as a striker. I will include one with the purchase. I have several other items I have made from tanks so please check my inventory. I have posted a video of this bell and all the others I have on Youtube. You can see and hear this bell at: https://youtu.be/1k79K4AbOB8 Check my other items for a wide selection of items. Since it is so heavy, shipping may be relatively expensive. I am estimating the shipping charges. The buyer will pay the actual shipping charges once they are determined and before the bell is shipped. You can also view all my work at my website:

I am a retired Army Engineer Diver and reside near Fredericksburg, VA. I have been working with wood or metal for over 30 years. I enjoy looking at a piece of material and seeing what it can be changed into instead of its original purpose.

I make unique items out of scuba diving tanks, scrap metal, and anything I can find so that I re-purpose, re-use or recycle as much material as possible. My goal is to have 90% of the material in my projects be items that were destined for the scrap yard or trash.

Whether it is a one of a kind engraved scuba tank, abstract sculpture, lamp, or piece of yard art, please allow me to work with you to make your vision come to life.

Pat did a great job and really worked hard to make sure the end result was what we were looking for. His willingness to learn and work with another artist was much appreciated. Even though the clock tower isn't fully complete Pat's portion of the project turned out great. I highly recommend using Pat for metal work.

We haven't received the Pteradactyl sculpture yet, but believe we will love it due to Pat's continuous updates with images, questions and confirmations. This was our first Custom Made project, as well as Pat's. He is a great person to work with, a real artist. I recommend him for steel renditions.

Positively-Absolutely-Talented (PAT) that's Pat! It was a very rewarding experience working with him. He took my cryptic drawings and information and turned them into a masterpiece. I've already asked him about working on another project for me. Thanks Pat, I really appreciate your talent and time. You're the best!!
