Double-Sided Baby Clothes Memory Quilt - Medium Size - 40 Blocks - Approx 40" X 50"

$400

This quilt features clothes from a client's daughter's first year of life. The client held onto her favorite pieces of clothing, and when ready sent the clothes to me. The tiny shirts, pants, jackets, and a little lovie were cut and combined with soft flannel into a quilt measuring approximately 40" x 50". er. The quilt is double-sided, each side has 20 blocks made from a combination of clothing and fabric. It was quilted with a straight-line design on each block. Where appropriate I added free-motion quilting to accentuate the fun features. Some extra fun bits: the jacket zipper functions; the little family of elephants trails off its block and onto the next.

We've all heard it a million times "no one _s anymore". Insert sewing, cooking, cleaning, or any one the hundreds of talents of generations past.

My love for sewing started out as a little girl watching my own mommy work up clothes and different crafts. The first thing I sewed was a little cloth with about 15 buttons on it. I was seven years old. In the years since I've continued to learn new sewing skills to build on the basics my mom taught me.

I've been quilting for 12 years now and have no plans on stopping. My favorite quilt to make are those featuring baby clothes. No other sewing puts a smile on my face like creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake filled with little tiny clothing pieces. I'm a sentimental soul, and even the whiffs of old spit up I get while ironing the clothes make me happy.

After having my first daughter was born in 2010, I wanted to find a way to supplement our household income while staying home with her. So I began offering my skills for sale. And set up my basement (a.k.a. The Dungeon) for large scale quilting and sewing. You will see different items pop up in my shop from time to time. If I make something for The Toddler, The Baby, or myself that I particularly like I want to share the fun.
