After almost 20 years of our 2 sons playing hockey (skating lessons, driving to and from practices, enjoying and sometimes enduring freezing cold, competitive games, managing countless teams, President of the my son’s HS Hockey Club, penalty box door man, clock manager and statistician, social coordinator for after game noshes, parent enthusiast and one year of being “snack mom”) my husband can now put his feet up and just relax! Our hockey chair came out better than I had envisioned! (A foot rest was also included which I wasn’t expecting!) Karl from KMR Works was terrific. He was thorough and professional in his communication with me, his craftsmanship is exceptional and he even made arrangements to meet me with my project to avoid the pricey shipping costs. The chair is also custom made to include our last name and son’s hockey numbers. A nice touch personal touch. Truly a 5 star experience all around! I wish I could give him 5+ in all of the categories. My husband loves it and each time we take a seat in it, we will reflect on the many happy years of memories at the rink! Thank you Karl!

I've had a great experience with this maker. I'm in the UK and wanted a specific tool for my son who studies in the US. Karl was really professional and did a fantastic job for me. He also added extra bits, for example he put a personal inscription on the tool for me and was really helpful with delivery and making sure that a personal card was included. I can't fault his professionalism and I know my son is going to be so pleased because there isn't an off the shelf version of the tool that he wants. Thanks again.

I am beyond pleased with the beautiful work done by Mark. We had company mission statement blocks prepared for each of our team members since we are working remote. As someone who used to work for custommade, I can attest that Karl is one of the best! I went to him with a fairly tough project of cutting a rail down into awards. He was very creative in his approach, and finalized the project on time with tons of communication in between. Highly recommended !

Karl was great to work with, sending me mockups and pictures along the way to make sure everything was how I wanted. He was always timely in responding to questions or requests and even included a nice note with the sign as it was being delivered straight to the gift recipients. I worked with Mark, not Karl. He was a pleasure to work with and helped me come up with a perfect design for my sign. Mark sent pictures of the finished product before sending it, and was willing to go back and make a modification I asked for at the end. Even with the modification, he finished the project and it arrived right on schedule. The only issue is an inconsistent font across the sign - one of the words has noticeably thinner letters than the rest and it makes the whole thing look a bit odd. Unfortunately I didn't notice until it arrived and I saw it in person. But overall it was a great experience and I'd work with Mark again.

Exceptional craftsmanship and an impressive attention to detail. From the initial estimation process to final production, delivery arrangements and beyond, every step was thorough, thoughtful and executed to the highest of standards. Who could of thought that an "across the country" phone, email and text collaboration between a designer's eye/vision (myself) to the craftsman's hands/production (Karl) could be so smooth? :-) From physically selecting my live edge slab at a local MA mill via online pics, to shared sketches of my vision, to the physical production and beyond - working with Karl was a fun and rewarding experience. Karl is a very communicative craftsman with a good eye and sincere willingness to please! AND, I cannot express enough about how impressed I was with his final shipping and crating process (to ensure a safe transit). I must admit I had my doubts as to whether a package so heavy and large could make it from MA to NV without issue. Well needless to say it did. The attention to detail and common sense approach Karl applied to physically make the crate my piece shipped it was flawless. He color coded screws, secured everything on an elevated floor and implemented secure strapping to provide a virtual foolproof safe transport. If you are considering a custom wood working project, and looking for a "last a lifetime" level of production and quality you can count on - Karl is definitely the guy to call! The end result speaks for itself. Though no picture can do the justice of physically seeing and feeling the satin smooth hand rubbed finish you can expect. Beautiful work, fair pricing and passionate/proven processes...

After working with Karl on this project I would look to him to build anything I need for my new home! Karl was extremely receptive to what I had in mind, and went out of his way to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. He sent me wood samples to make sure it matched my decor, he communicated on the project often, and he delivered & assembled it himself which saved money and was very convenient. The craftsmanship was beautiful, and he had great ideas. Karl was an absolute pleasure to work with - he made everything easy and I could not recommend him or his work more highly.

He completed the job 2 weeks ahead of time to ensure that it arrived for the special event. He was professional and talked me through every step he was taking and what he was going to do.
