This handmade cutting board is made for art lovers and special occasions. Exceptionally beautiful and yet still useful to cut vegetables or use as a serving platter. The center portion is made from solid maple making it very durable while the edges are made from customizable exotic wood. The combination creates a stunning conversation piece without even using it! As an art piece, special care must be given to ensure its appearance. Hand wash and air dry after each use and do NOT submerse in water or place it in a dishwasher. Keep out of direct sunlight as this will darken the exotic wood. Comes with a selection of different exotic woods and with a food safe oil finish.

For Cherry And Walnut End Grain Cutting Board, Handmade And Reversible5.0EDIT: The cutting board is walnut end grain with cocobolo handles. This is the second cutting board made for us and it is even more beautiful than the first - hard to believe. What we didn't know when we received the first board and now this one, is that end cut boards are better for knives which stay sharper longer. They have a great cutting surface. For this board we chose a slightly larger board that is 24"x18"x2" and it gives great working space for cutting and assembling foods. Photos of the boards can't do justice to the quality and craftsmanship. The feel is silky smooth. Everyone who sees the boards gush on how beautiful they are. Needless to say we're really pleased.

For Walnut And Cocobolo End Grain Cutting Board, Handmade And Reversible5.0The board is absolutely useless. It is far to good to be used as a chopping board. I have had to go out and buy a piece of junk so I can just look at Mark's one and cut on the other. I have banned the family from touching it lest it gets finger marks on it. A work of art such as this should be framed and hung on a wall. Seriously though, it is superb, as was the service and communication. Good luck to you Mark; and many thanks.

As the kitchen has no wood adding a beautiful wood board would be a nice accent and functional kitchen piece. The board arrived early and is in a word, stunning. As another reviewer commented, "it is too nice to use". The build and finish of the board is superb. I've seen lots of cutting boards but none have approached the beauty and craftsmanship of this board. If anyone has any doubts on the worth of these boards, don't. We see a second board in the future.
