Oversized Reclaim Doors
Legacy Restoration worked with artist and designer Gord Peteran to create 14' high front doors for the Center for Art in Wood building in Old City, Philadelphia. The doors were fabricated from 150-year-old reclaimed old growth pine salvaged from an 1850s farmhouse in Montgomery County, PA. A complex routing jig compass was used to created three different depth of cuts, giving the design a three dimensional quality.

on the past 300 years of architectural history. Our expertise and passion is to preserve the true art and craftsmanship of historic joinery using green, sustainable procedures.
Our special processes include both common and more elaborate heritage joinery methods to ensure longevity and enhance the beauty of both historic and newer homes. We use reclaimed materials wherever possible and desired, as well as environmentally friendly paints, primers, sealants and reclaimed wood.
While we are able to take on a very wide range of custom woodworking projects, we specialize in custom cabinetry including high end kitchen cabinetry, built-in furniture, interior and exterior doors, shutters and blinds, windows, and butcher block countertops.
