Heirloom Panel Christening Gown

$1,200

This is an heirloom gown which was made from an antique Champagne colored raw silk. There are 8 silk panels and 8 lace panels which each has a different heirloom embellishment including embroidery, hand beading. ribbons, ribbon bows and lace insertion. It's all put together with heirloom stitching and French seams. The pictures do not do this gown any justice for it is one of the most beautiful gowns made. There are so many details to this gown that every time you look at it you see something different. Although this was made for a baby it adapts easily for any special occasion for a little girl!

Welcome to my store!

I have been stitching for well over 40 years! Amazing how fast time goes by, seems like yesterday that I sat at a sewing machine for first time!

I make wedding dresses, baby attire to include Christening/Baptismal Gowns, after christening party attire, First Communion Dresses, Flower girl dresses, quilts or anything you can dream up. I have studied with some world renowned designers such as Sandra Betzina, special occasion expert Susan Khalji, and designer to the stars Kenneth King.

I first learned the trade while visiting an aunt during a summer vacation. She was giving sewing lessons and I had an immediate love for the craft just by watching and when offered the opportunity to learn, I jumped at it! That was the beginning of a lifelong passion.

At first I was only interested in crafting my own clothes but that quickly evolved into sewing for others. When I got married I had made my mind up that I was going to venture into the special occasion genre by making my own gown and that became my next love. After the birth of my first daughter I began making all her (and now my granddaughters) special occasion dresses and then off to yet another level of the craft!

I have made many wedding gowns through the years for friends and the general public, when our friends were having babies I added Baptismal and Christening gowns to my repertoire. At first the gowns were plain with a little lace or other adornment. I have since branched off into using machine embroideries and hand beading along with heirloom techniques. The more intricate the patterns and adornments the better I like it! I have not yet met a request I haven't been able to fulfill.

I am also associated with the organization "Rest in His Arms", which provides burial attire to babies which have been abandoned by their families. This organization provides the burial gowns and services for each baby they come in contact with for free.

It has been a rewarding evolution from my first stitch to now!

If you like my work but do not see exactly what you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me for a custom order. I will do my best to work within your budget and timeline. There is no job too big or too small for me to tackle!

I take great pride in the pieces I produce and although not everything in life is a guarantee, I will stand behind my work until you are completely satisfied with your product. I will use the highest quality fabrics for what your budget will allow.

Please take note that although I am a smoke free environment I am not pet free (dogs and cat). I do try to keep my work area as pet free as possible however it's not always attainable.

Thank you,
Marcy

Marceil was fabulous to work with. She made suggestions to save me money but not sacrifice the project. She sent me pictures of the lace that she could find that was similar to what I had described and let me pick which one I liked best. She sent me pictures and updated me on the progress of the dress the whole way through. She exceeded my expectations and I would definitely recommend her as a maker. Thank you Marceil! I don't see how I can add pictures to this review or I would send a picture of my dress - it is gorgeous!

Marcy was truly great in every way. She took my idea and actualized it wonderfully. I was also under a huge time crunch, and she worked incredibly fast to get my project done in time. She was terrific at adjusting things when I suggested a change here and there, and was a very responsive and friendly collaborator on this project. A lovely, talented artist with a lovely, positive energy.

Marceil was amazing! She contacted me every step of the way, asked my opinion on what I would prefer. She even added a special message to the quilt so that my son will be able to keep this and remember how he got it. Thank you so much! I know that anyone who is looking for this type of work will not be disappointed. And who knows I might just need to get something for my daughter soon!
