Oliver Dining Chairs
Shown here in Madrone, the Oliver arm and side chairs take their cue from the sublime works of mid century Scandanavian craftspeople, known far and wide for exquisite seating design. I've attempted to channel some of that spirit into these chairs through the sculpted joinery, graceful curves, scooped solid wood seat, and curved laminated back slats for additional lumbar support. Equal parts comfort and durability, all Modwoodshop chairs are built to withstand the rigors of daily use (and sometimes abuse) and maintain their integrity for a lifetime of function.

Since 2005 Modwoodshop has been specializing in the design and construction of top quality handcrafted fine furniture, unique cabinetry solutions, and custom interior woodwork. A diverse range of influences including Danish modern, Japanese architecture, and the works of Charles and Henry Greene converge in a minimalist aesthetic with a nuanced amount of subtle detail and visual appeal. A pared down approach of updating more traditional styles is also of particular interest.
Of equal importance is a dedication to making conscientious choices when selecting and procuring materials; utilizing local resources as well as salvaged and repurposed goods is always encouraged.
