Hand Tooled Leather Cover For Pocket (Trucker) Size Alcoholics Anonymous
Protect your pocket sized text with a durable and attractive hand carved leather cover. This cover is made a hand carved and tooled cowhide back with inside lining and pockets made of genuine calf skin or an assortment of designer leathers and hand laced with calf skin lace. An extra strand of calfskin lace provides for two matching bookmarks. I love the pocket size text, but its soft paper cover is rather fragile and it takes a lot of abuse going in and out of my pocket. With a durable cover I now feel better about fully highlighting and noting my small book as I no longer need to replace it all the time. Customize the design to suit your tastes. I do all my own hand carving of text and can make a cover to your specification using your favorite prayer or short passage from the text. The inside pockets are of finished calf skin, but can also be made of light weight, toolable cowhide that can be further customized with your name and sobriety date if you like. I also make "dual" versions of the standard, pocket, and large print sizes for both Big Book and 12 x 12. All covers are available in a variety of colors and finishing styles. My name is Allan and I have been hand carving and tooling leather since around the age of 12. Nevermind how long ago that was!
My initial work was in wallets, belts, and purses. But my love is in tooling larger items with more room for design and expression. I currently specialize in book covers and covers for consumer electronic devices.
Have a family bible that you would like to protect and decorate with a carved leather cover with your favorite passage inscribed? How about a personalized cover for your favorite novel or photo album. Are you in recovery or know someone who is? I have many ready-made designs for covers for the literature from Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12 step programs for that special sponsor or loved one in recovery.
I also tool portraits of pets. Have a furry friend that you would like remembered in leather? How about a leather clock or wall hanging with your favorite picture of your pet?
Though my love and specialty is in the carving, tooling and dying of leather, I do welcome all inquiries for your leather project. I do all my own work including tooling and dying of the leather and the stitching, lacing and any other assembly required to complete the final product.
