A metal rose with copper petals that never wilts… These are some of the full sized roses I have made. With petals of either steel, copper, brass, or tin. As well as thorns, leaves, texture along the stem and they typically measure about 18" long. While this represents the general nature of this type there are minor variations in each by virtue of their each being made by hand by myself. No two shall ever be the exact same but I always maintain quality. I can send pictures of the exact rose or let you select from a variety if you request it. These roses are constructed with the aid of welding, riveting, grinding, and texturing the old fashioned way (by hammer and anvil). Every single divot in the stem, every striation in the petal, every crease in the leaves is the product of a vast number of hammer strikes. The thorns are indeed as sharp as you should find them in nature. If you should like I could dull them some or make one without any thorns whatsoever. I use stout sheet metal and steel bar to fabricate these and they are very robust. I sometimes demonstrate their strength of design with one that I toss across a room and even step on without damaging it to a notable degree. You do not have to worry about this rose lasting for ages to come. It will. If you want something special then please inform me of it. I enjoy the interesting ideas people have for these roses and look forward to your thoughts.

My name is Chris De La Torre. I am a 27 year old welder, fabricator, and metal artist from Citrus Heights, California. I spend much of my day welding, grinding, hammering, and forming, and I couldn't be more satisfied with that. I specialize in metal flowers, roses especially, but I do a wide variety of different sculptural and jewelery works. I focus on natural forms as I love the dichotomy between the harsh, rigid nature of steel and the free flowing and graceful forms of nature. I love to take on unique custom orders that expand my horizons and peak my interest.
