Tumbled Porcelain Backsplash
The homeowners had an existing travertine floor that they wanted to compliment with a custom backsplash. I distressed my tile to look like travertine but is stronger and doesn't require any maintenance, like resealing it. With the freedom of making all the tile I was able to create a variety of intricate trim moldings along the counter and around all the openings, ie. windows and archways.

Gregory Aliberti established Aliberti Art Tile in 1994 specializing in vibrant architectural ceramics. His studio creates murals, planters, fireplaces and tables through many techniques such as printing, painting, large scale slab work and plaster molds. He utilizes both traditional hand-forming techniques and embraces contemporary computer design, and offers an original, boutique tile line. The unique clay body he developed has recycled and regionally found materials. Aliberti Art Tile has been recognized in many national tile reviews and has been awarded commissions from government and private agencies including public transit stations, community development agencies and restaurants while satisfying numerous residential orders including reproduction of antique tile.
