Elegant Sideboard
This unique sideboard celebrates beautiful wood grain and offers a lot of storage. The top is made from a single piece of very highly figured silver maple and was brought to a high build gloss finish. The cabinet doors, drawers and sides are made from quilted bubinga. The saber legs are wenge. The handles were turned from the same wood as the top, bringing that beautiful wood to the front face and helping cement the design.

I am a custom furniture designer and maker located in Crestwood, IL, nestled among the southwest suburbs of Chicago. I began working with wood in 1975, using the hand tools and materials available to me as a youth. Since then I have graduated to making much more elaborate pieces from domestic and exotic hardwoods in my commercial workshop.
Every piece that I make is unique to the needs and design sensibilities of the client. I can accommodate commissioned requests which range from simple and unadorned designs with clean lines to more complex and flowing pieces using beautiful figured veneers, and any combination in between.
When not working in the shop I work for Wood Magazine as their online community manager and provide projects, tool reviews and other woodworking related articles to the print side. I've been on the news stands over three dozen times in the last 15 years, working to help other woodworkers advance their craft.
