Neutral Burlap Table Runner

I have always had a love for art and craft ever since I can remember. My first encounter in this arena was when I was in first grade. I developed an interest and fascination for crocheting and taught myself and from that I went on to doing patch work. Being from the Caribbean island of Jamaica, our school curriculum included home economics (cooking, baking and sewing).I migrated to the US in 1981 and my first gift from my mom was a singer sewing machine and I have been sewing since then and it as always been my favorite hobby.

My aunt Veronica always encouraged me not to just do it as a hobby and so I transitioned into the professional world of seamstress on a part time basis for many years where my clientele consisted mainly of men. I took a break after feeling the effects of a full and part time job, along with raising a family. I then focused on my finance career, from which I got laid off for over two years ago. This led me to start sewing again making clothing for myself just to keep me busy.

However, after watching one of the many home remodeling shows and admiring how beautiful the pillows were, I decided to venture into home décor. I shared this with my family and friends and they supported me; my mom advertised on her job and church and got me several orders. My local home décor customers are very pleased with my work and that has inspired me to offer my services and products nationally by opening my Etsy shop.

I am happy to say I have no regrets because I am engaged in something that I love doing and am passionate about. I pay attention to detail and take great pride in my work. My main objective is to satisfy my customers and make them happy by providing the highest quality work.
