Cherry Kitchen Work Table 1
Cherry Kitchen Work Table 2

Cherry Kitchen Work Table

$6,950

This cherry work table was designed for a client who needed a movable work island. The features she wanted were a slated shelf and casters. The rest of the design was left up to me. I added one of my leg designs to a simple table form with pleasing proportions. The featured table is made from solid cherry and finished with hand rubbed linseed oil and wax.

I began my woodworking career in 1992 after taking a guitar building course in Rockport Maine. Following were nine years as a carpenter before attending The Center For Furniture Craftsmanship, a furniture making school in 2001. I opened my shop in Red Hook Brooklyn that same year and have been making custom furniture, cabinetry, and mill work for the past thirteen years. My shop is now located in historic Wethersfield CT.

I have also enjoyed writing on the subject of woodworking and have had several articles featured in Fine Woodworking Magazine as well as a video series on dovetail joinery techniques. My furniture has been featured in two design books by the Taunton Press.

Over the past 13 years I have been commissioned to make a wide range of custom work. My shop routinely crafts custom furniture, high end cabinetry, custom doors, both interior and exterior, and mill work. I have also worked on some very special jewelry projects for both Julius Cohen Jewelers in NYC and Mish New York.

I welcome the challenges of design as much as the fabrication process. Every design that I produce is modeled and rendered in 3D space. The customer gets to see a photographically real image of the piece before it is constructed. This allows for any issues to be resolved before a project is built.
