Giant Balsa Air Plane
Here we have designed and built a blown-up giant reproduction of the classic balsa wood airplane available in the traditional American hardware store. The materials consist of a lightweight plywood frame- sheathed with luan. The decals are hand painted with red enamel. We have designed this replica to be assembled in sections for easy transport and storage. The sections easily bolt together. The propeller and rubber band could be fabricated at extra cost, yet were not necessary for the depicted version.

The Day & Age Story
Jon Day founded DAY & AGE in 2013. He is a Sculptor, Shipwright, and Restoration specialist. He has worked as an art fabricator in NYC, a shipwright for Mystic Seaport, and has studied Sculpture & Industrial Design at Pratt Institute. Jon’s mission with DAY & AGE is to build a company of craftsmen and designers up to the task of world-class Restoration and custom Design/Build fabrication.
