Live Edge Sofa Table- Console Table- Foyer Table- Natural Wood- Mid Century- Light Wood

$1,225

This live edge table can be used as a sofa table, console table, hallway table, foyer table, or even a small laptop or writing desk. It's a super curvy piece made from a solid slab of Maple. The wooden table top has light browns, golds, white and yellows tones. The natural wood slab is packed with figuring and unusual grain patterns. The top has been flattened, sanded smooth and finished in a satin poly. The finish will protect the wood against moisture, scratches and heat. It's ready for whatever you throw at it! The top rests on four raw steel hairpin legs that have been clear coated for protection. It's a cool piece of furniture that has a twist of mid century, rustic and modern flavor. The finished table measures 51 1/2" l x 17" avg D and 30"H. The top is a solid 2" thick.

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.

Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
