Four Oak Designs is devoted to making beautiful, yet functional, works of art. Just as an artist foresees their next brush stroke, we must foresee a special placement for each piece of wood. Simply putting pieces of wood together because they may fit is not what we do. The majority of wood we work with is heart pine. This “heart” wood came from the non-living center of the first generation of pine trees in America. These first generation trees (natural growing trees that were here when the first settlers came to America) were predominantly Longleaf pine trees which are now a threatened species.

I have been working with my hands for all my life, and I rarely come across something I cannot build or fix, and if that is the case, I try everything in my power to learn how. Sure, there are tons of people out there that are more skilled and have more experience than I do, but I promise no one will try harder and go more out of their way for you than I will.

If you need any advice on care, maintenance, setup, etc. I will gladly pass on any and all of my knowledge in that particular area as well as exhaust all my available resources in order to better serve you. I have always been one of those people that love to work, and I am truly blessed to have found something I really love to do. Although I say “this is not a hobby, it’s my job” I love it like a hobby, but treat it like a job.
