About Red Leaf

Red Leaf Woodcraft + Design is a woodworking studio formed by Jonathan Hilton, a furniture maker, designer, and craftsman. I work with responsibly sourced hardwoods to create objects with simple, modern lines that exist in harmony with the organic character of the materials. I allow the inherent beauty of the materials to shine. This truthfulness to the materials ensures that they are truly one-of-a-kind.
I focus on clean, minimal design to produce beautiful handmade pieces for your environment. The unique use of solid materials with the patina of time produces an elegance and natural richness that draws you into these pieces. Each piece is simultaneously raw and refined, they are meant to be touched, used, worn, and talked about.

“Responsibly sourced” refers to harvesting trees that have either fallen or need to come down based on their age or health. I work with closely with local foresters and sawyers to obtain these trees, have them custom-sawn, then ensure these trees find a new life in beautiful furniture and home goods. After I use the lumber I return to plant new trees in their place to ensure to longevity of the forest they came from.
