Personally, I would describe myself as a productive Pyromaniac. Instead of being a destructive force with my fascination with fire and dangerous processes, I choose to create, both conceptual artwork, as well as functional craft. My fascination with dangerous processes began rather innocently in a community college ceramics studio. Dissatisfied with simply making pottery, I began to expand into glassblowing, metalworking, and woodworking. Now, I am currently completing my last semester at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA in Ceramics and Sculpture.
I have a fascination with the pursuit of finely crafted objects, and because of this fascination I have made it a goal to learn as many processes and techniques as possible to always create the best result from my effort. I now have a broad range of specialties because of this, and I will gladly create almost anything given the opportunity.
My skills include but are not limited to:
Forging, Metal casting, welding, Metal forming, Woodworking, carving, Wheel throwing, glazing, Kiln maintenance and construction, kiln firing, glassblowing, cold working, electrical wiring, and Neon sign making.
However, my primary focus in my personal art practice is crystalline glazed pottery, Metal casting, and Neon sign work.
