Douglas Fir & Steel Desk- Reclaimed W/ Original Saw Marks

Douglas Fir & Steel Desk- Reclaimed W/ Original Saw Marks

$1,300

This desk is constructed out of steel and reclaimed Douglas Fir, which was hand harvested from an old building outside of Portland,Oregon. I carefully split the original 2x4s in half in order to use both side of the wood's exterior, salvaging those original saw marks that are so steeped in history and offer gorgeous character to the desk. The frame is built out of steel, which I hand welded, sanded and then finished with a simple oil. The drawers are set on smooth, soft-close tracks and finished with custom hand-welded pulls.

I make custom furniture, art and structures using steel and iron, often coupled with wood accents for a rustic aesthetic and artisan design that is completely unique for each customer. My art combines reclaimed and recycled wood and steel, which are locally-sourced wherever possible.

Whether you have a specific design or just a rough idea, my job is to create the piece that is perfect for you. I have worked with both residential and commercial clients to design and fabricate coffee tables, bookshelves, entry tables, ornate fences, wine racks, custom commissioned art and statement pieces, garden arbors and more.

I have been working with metal and wood for over a decade, having trained as a metal artist during college. What started as a hobby has flourished into a passion, and I look forward to every new creation I am commissioned to build.
