I got interested about two years ago when my wife's father was on hospice for cancer. My wife took a leave from work and we moved in with him and his wife to take care of them. He was a retired welder and made yard art from recycled steel. I spent the summer making yard art with him to pass the time. After he passed away I made a few things and then I tried my hand a blacksmithing.
I built a gas forge from an old propane tank and with the help of youtube I was off and running. I soon found a master blacksmith and took a two day begining class. About a year and a half ago I opened and etsy account .
I have had some success selling my work on etsy. I have done a few custom orders and this is something I enjoy doing. I like the interaction with the client to get them exactly what they want. If needed I send photos with the progress so I can make changes if needed. If you want some metal work just for you I will be happy to make it happen.

For measurements for glass and butcherblock bar topThe corbels Dan made for our home are exactly what we were looking for. We have a wonderful bronze sculpture that needed a glass pedestal to apprecieate its dramatic beauty. We were able to mount the tempered glass on the wall with the corbels that Dan made . The corbels support the weight of the glass plus the sculpture and it is perfect! Also had corbels made to support a 12 foot cherry butcherblock breakfast bar. It all came together beautifully. He gave our little "remodel" some really nice finishing touches. I will be contacting Dan again for some additional pieces for my kitchen. The craftsmanship is exactly what I was looking for and Dan was so easy to work with...customizing to make sure our corbels were not only aesthetically pleasing, but truly functional as well. He had them to us in a timely fashion as promised...the only part of the remodel that has gone as planned! Thank You Dan!

For Twisted Brace CorbelThis whole process was a great experience. I'm preparing a next project for Dan to produce. These will look great for my need in the 1876 church I serve at. Pastor Ginny

For Wrought Iron Double Plant HangerI had been looking for a wrought iron contraption to hang two indoor hanging plants from, and cold never find one. I wish I had looked on Custom Made first. Dan was the first one to respond. The communications went very quickly, and I got the finished product in less than a week. The work was very good quality, and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely hire Dan again if I need something made of wrought iron.

For Jen's Hardware & InstallationsI couldn’t be happier with my experience working with Dan! He shared pictures with me of the process and made sure everything was how I wanted before he finalized the project! Communication and professionalism were top notch! I will definitely call him when I need another project done!

For Rams Head Hearth SetI was looking for a unique fireplace tool set and met DAN thru this site. He was GREAT to work with, very professional, creative AND did everything he said he would do. I had an idea of what I was looking for and he immediately went to work creating “samples” until he made something I liked-all with out any contract or charge. I wanted these items for the Christmas holiday and he worked endlessly to deliver them on time?? I would MOST DEFIANTLY use Dan again. HE WAS A JOY TO WORK WITH ??
