Pantagonal Chime

$1,500

This shape is composed of three different shapes welded together into one solid ball of geometry. The base shape is called a rhombic triacontahedron. On its own it is a beautiful shape that has 5 fold rhombic flowers on its surface whatever way you turn it. On top of that is a Icosahedron that's made up of triangles. Each bar of the Icosahedron passes over the long side of the rhombus' as apposed to the dodecahedron, the outermost shape, that passes over the narrower width. Although it is beautiful on its own, when struck there is an initial ding that soon reverberates through the whole shape. The sound rings on for 30+ second before tapering off. When spun the sound has a 3d vibrato. This chime is sure to be unlike anything you have seen or heard before. Each one is cut, polished , fitted, tacked and professionally tig welded by me. It is made out of 3/8 aluminum rod but the rod diameter and overall dimensions can be changed to suit. It is sure to be a feature in your home or yard hung from the ceiling or a tree, or even sitting on a table or shelf.

Industrial Elegance is really a philosophy as well as a name. I believe in bringing back the term "American ingenuity" by making products that are both beautiful in form and function and strong and solid "like they used to make things". I have 8 years of professional Tig welding experience and have spent many nights working on my own projects in my basement workshop. Tig welding is a type of precision welding that, although difficult to master, can produce welds that can be showcased instead of hidden or ground off.

In the past Industrial Elegance has been limited by my time and space in my basement. As of fall of 2014 I have moved to a studio work space in a business near my house. I am able to bring my talents and Ideas to a place where I have space, equipment and time to work on new projects. Over the next month I will be getting access to a water get to expand my horizons even more. It is truly an exciting time

I enjoy working with metal in a thought out process this allows me to focus on the details. Its with welding, grinding, polishing and finishing that I can add character and warmth to otherwise cold pieces of metal.
