Skilled Portrait Artist in Pencil and Collage with Magazine Papers & Strips
I work with wide array of mediums from pencil, paint, sculpture, paper, printmaking, photography to digital art. I believed that being open to different art forms gave me a broad perspective of the arts allowing me to mix different art forms together to create new styles and unique works of art.
I mastered drawing realistic portraits in pencil. In 2000, I began experimenting in adding mixed media to my penciled portraits. I took magazine papers, and started cutting paper strips and shapes of colors needed to fill in the drawing of a face. I layer each strip as if "painting" with paper. The magazine is my color palette. Each paper strip represents a "brushstroke." The final result is always better than I ever imagined and such a conversation piece.
I do commission work of my portraits in pencil and my unique collage style. I have been in several groups shows and exhibitions. I truly enjoy what I do. I put my heart and soul into every piece I create. I really feel blessed to have such a talent to share with others.
