My name is Matthew Osborn. I have a BFA in funiture design from Herron School of Art and Design. I studied Engineering and Industrial Design before graduating in the field of Furniture Design. Designing and crafting furniture fulfills all three of these interests for me. I approach my work as an artist, striving to express my own style. I design my furniture to be functional, ergonomic and approachable. I engineer my pieces to be structurally sound and enduring. Lastly I exicute my work with the highest level of craft that I can, always pushing myself to construct and finish furniture that you would be proud to hand down to the next generation .

I absolutely love the stick and branch desk that now adorns my writing room. Matthew refinished an existing piece for me, and there is no hint that it lived a prior life. It looks brand new, out of the work shop. He was clear and accurate in his descriptions, sent pictures, etc. The woodwork is exceptional, and the wood itself is beautiful. At the very start of the project, Matthew made me aware that his family was experiencing some personal grief, and I agreed that this project would not and should not be his highest priority. I was still willing to be patient and wait for this desk, from this maker. The wait was somewhat longer than he or I anticipated; from my perspective, it felt like progress sometimes occurred only after I sent an inquiry. Still, I am extraordinarily happy with the final product, and would work with Matthew again as long as I wasn't in a rush.
