Very unique project, whereby a customer whose daughter plays semi-pro women's hockey asked us to build a chest and incorporate as many of her daughter's childhood hockey sticks as we could. This proved a difficult proposition, as the hockey sticks were actually goalie sticks with odd dimensions. And so, we built the frame using a combination of Basswood and Cedar for the inside walls of the chest. Peruvian Walnut strips with different thicknesses were attached to the aforementioned walls to give the entire piece some depth and dimension. Portions of the hockey sticks were cut and used to frame in the side walls and a paddle from one goalie stick was inlayed into the front of the piece. Due to the curvature of the actual paddle portion of the stick, we recreated our own paddles using Basswood and affixed them to the front of the piece. This particular customer and her family are from Canada, so we felt it prudent to represent their Canadian heritage by making and affixing the Canadian maple leaf on the back of the chest as shown in the photographs. Finally, we created a lid and incorporated a mixture of Basswood and Peruvian Walnut to the lid and used three heavy duty flush mount hinges for a smooth opening and closing of the lid. We spent a tremendous amount of time designing this piece, but we knew our customer had a special connection to this order, so we enjoyed all of the time we put into it. If you have special memorablia that you would like to re-purpose, please don't hesitate to message us for a free design and quote.

About Me:
My name is Ryan, owner of Snhwoodworks. We have serviced the New England area since 2013 professionally and have been an avid woodworker since 2002. I attended the University of New Hampshire where I attained a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and later received my Master of Business Administration Degree from the Southern New Hampshire University. Without question, woodworking and home remodeling is my passion!
About My Business:
Snhwoodworks has a fully equipped shop filled with all of the top of the line, high end woodworking/furniture/cabinetry building tools. Our primary vendor used for the purchase of our equipment is Jet Tools, however we do use others such as Powermatic, Grizzly and Rikon. We typically purchase our equipment from Rockler Woodworking. We purchase the majority of our lumber from Highland Hardwoods located in Brentwood, New Hampshire, but in a pinch, we will purchase from Cyr Lumber located in Windham, New Hampshire, as they have an excellent selection as well.
Currently, I am the sole full-time employee, however, we have a total of four members of the team that assist with different portions of the business. We have two shop security guards named, Meatball and Louise who are a Pug and an English Bulldog. They can often be found laying at the base of the bandsaw keeping the safety and security of the shop.
Services:
Snhwoodworks engages in the following services:
Home remodeling services offered:
hardwood floor installation/refinishing, bathroom remodeling, kitchen remodeling, tile installation/removal, crown molding/baseboard installation, finished carpentry, decks, cedar closet installation, and interior painting.
About My Work:
We at Snhwoodworks strive to put quality into our products at an affordable (and often times cheaper than in your cookie cutter furniture stores) price. Quite in fact, woodworking and home remodeling is a passion for us and is not considered work. We love to put a creative spin into our work. We work quickly to get our products out in a timely manner, but of course, not at the cost of quality. We use only the best lumber on the market and each board is hand selected by one of us. We recycle all wasted material and use it to build other things such as "Recycled Wooden Drink Coasters," or some other fun project that we feel people would like. We truly hope we have the opportunity to make your home a beautiful place where visitors will see and talk about for years to come. We hope to hear from you and thank you for your time and interest.
