Custom Birthday Quilt

Design a special quilt for your loved one to commemorate a special birthday or other occasion. The quilt features fabrics selected especially for the recipient of the gift. The pictured quilt was made for my father's 80th birthday and includes fabrics that highlight places and things he loved in his life. I use only quilt-shop quality 100% cotton fabrics because they will hold up beautifully through many years of use. I have in stock the solid color squares that set off the special fabrics you and I will select together to celebrate the person and occasion. Once the fabrics have been selected and purchased, I will begin assembling the quilt top. After completing the quilt top, I machine-quilt the top to the batting and backing. I will also make a custom label and attach it to the back of the quilt. You can choose what the label will say. In keeping with quilting tradition, it should include who the quilt was made for, who gave the quilt and for what occasion, the name of the quiltmaker (me) and when it was completed. Lead times could vary significantly depending on the number of different fabrics desired and how easy or difficult it is to find fabrics to match the theme(s). Quilts are a joy to design, make, and give. They are treasured by their recipients and kept in the family as heirlooms for generations. You don't have to be a quilter to own a handmade quilt.
